Why bother with school?? We've got tuitions!

My chemistry tuition starts again tomorrow after a 3 week long break. Physics starts on saturday. From now until the beginning of March '06, I've got physics and chemistry tuition twice a week for one and a half to two hours, and math tuition four days a week.

And so, now I'm wondering, with so many tuitions, whats the point of going to school? Aside from the attendance required to write the board exam, I see no logical reason. Tuition is supposed to supplement what one learns at school, but that's far from what's happening. Tuitions don't supplement, they teach it all over again. From A to Z. And often, I hear, different chapters will be taught simultaneously at tuition and at school. So why bother with both? The general consensus is that tuitions are much more beneficial, but because of the reason mentioned above, it is necessary that one attends school. The point of going to school is to be taught everything that is necessary to pass the board exam. So why has it become a necessity to go for tuitions?

Well,
Don't you realise what it means? We have to go to tuitions only because our schoolteachers are so highly incompetent. DOWN WITH TPS!!!

but don't you realize that not all schools have teachers as horrible as TPS, but the students still go for tuitions? its hardly an option anymore...

Totally agree. I mean, you're spending all that time (most of the day) in school, you pay the school fees, and you still need to go for tuition. why go to school at all? It's the school's JOB to prepare you for the exams, they're getting paid for it, aren't they? I mean, it's different if someone is particularly bad at a subject and really needs extra help, but all these brainies going to tuition - why??? They don't need it! And all the people who are not brilliant or slogaholic types, your regular kind of guys, their parents INSIST that they go for tuition, but that doesn't seem to be helping them either. (at least that's what I've gathered from what I've seen happening at my school) Tuition in most cases is a waste of time, money, energy, petrol...

Look, stop wondering why we have this tuition problem. The reason is very clear. Our education system sucks bigtime. It needs a complete renovation, not small changes here and there. The way we are taught, and the things we are taught are complete nonsense. In fact, it is so nonsensical it is worthy of a place in my blog.
